Basic Information

A coeducational school, located in the heart of the Swiss Alps, Aiglon International School regards itself as one of the world’s most distinctive boarding schools. Founded in 1949 by John Corlette, he believed in a balanced holistic education and modelled Aiglon on British boarding school values. The school’s breathtaking alpine location provides exceptional opportunities for personal development outside the classroom and reinforces their view that education is about mind, body and spirit.

Academics and Boarding

Aiglon’s curriculum coupled with state-of-the-art learning facilities is designed to ensure that every aspect of a student’s intellectual development is supported. Alongside the internationally recognized iGCSE and International Baccalaureate (IB) programs there are options to take enrichment classes in languages, service, expeditions and creativity. As well as this, students are given individualised and comprehensive assistance in order to gain admissions to some of the top universities across the world.
Outside of the classroom, students are encouraged to participate in school community activities that promote, from leadership opportunities, management, sustainability and mentorship.

There are several boarding houses for boys and girls of different age on campus. Students share with unto 3 other pupils. Each house has common rooms, a dining room, a kitchen and a games room. Houseparents reside in the houses, and aim to make students feel at home.

Extracurricular Activities

Morning meditation is a core tradition at Aiglon, and presents a daily opportunity for personal reflection for students. Furthermore, to facilitate the integration of each student, they are required to participate in different activities during the courses of the year such as hiking, biking, kayaking, rock-climbing, ski and other outdoors activities.
