Basic Information
Institute Le Rosey is one of the oldest schools in Switzerland and is world-renowned for its rich history and academic ethos. Le Rosey has been owned and managed by five generations of directors since it was established in 1880. The school welcomes boarders aged 8 to 18 from over 60 nations and has had many notable alumni throughout the years. Unique to the school, are two exceptional campuses: a wonderful estate located in Rolle and itâs winter quarters in the charming Gstaad.
Academics and Boarding
Le Rosey sets high academic standards for its students, and offers a rigorous bilingual, bicultural education. The language of instruction being French or English depending on the academic program.
Students opt for the International Baccalaureate (IB) or the French Baccalauréat and on average there are just 10 students per class. This individual and focused learning really enables students to maximise their chances of success and fully benefit from academic instruction. With this approach, Le Rosey students have achieved outstanding results, and over the last five years, the French bac pass rate has been 100%, with over 60% of them obtaining high honours. 98% of international students have obtained the full IB diploma. As a result, all students gain admissions into leading universities world-wide including institutions within the Ivy League, Oxbridge and Russell Group.
Though classes and many sporting and leisure activities are coeducational, girls and boys have their own campuses respectively set in 28 hectares of splendid park land. There are both singles and doubles rooms, and students are permitted to decorate them to suit their personal tastes.
Extracurricular Activities
Due to the idyllic location of Le Rosey students can enjoy various activities on campus, including sports events, and music performances. The school also organises expeditions and camps throughout the year.
