It is owned and managed by The Méan family and has been handed down from generation to generation. This co-educational institution welcomes boarding and day students, aged between 5 â 18 years from across the world. French and English are the two languages taught and spoken within the school allowing students to excel in both languages
Academics and Boarding
La Garenne aims to support individuals in achieving high academic success whilst developing lifelong learning and discovery. Students study various academic programs. These include the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) which is integrated with the English National Curriculum and the International Baccalaureate.
La Garenne boarding houses offer a warm and welcome environment for students and are each dedicated to their academic year groups. House parents are responsible for the comfort, safety and wellbeing of all children during their tenure. 2-4 share a room, and each student has a desk and cupboard for their things. Junior school students have en-suite rooms.
Activities and clubs are organised during the evening and boarders are encouraged to participate. These include, cooking classes, video and film club and Model UN. Dinners for special occasions such as birthdays and holidays are all organised by the House Parents throughout the year for students too.
Extracurricular Activities
Weekends at La Garenne are dedicated to relaxation, discovery and organised leisure activities in and around Switzerland. Students visit museums, go hiking or canoeing. During the schoolâs breaks there are opportunities for children aged 8-14 to participate in organised camps.
