Basic Information

Founded in 1904, The Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz is one of the world’s most renowned boarding schools. The school combines an international focus with innovative learning and high academic standards. As a result, the school attaches a great deal of importance to tolerance, mutual respect, fair play, commitment and life-long learning. The campus is located in the beautiful alpine landscape near the city of St. Moritz and encompasses 12 buildings along with a sports field, ice rinks, tennis courts, golf course and a driving range.

Academics and Boarding

Students can choose from the following programs; Swiss Matura, International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) or International Baccalaureate Career-Related Programme (IBCP).
The Swiss Matura is a 4 or 6 year program which qualifies students to study at all Swiss universities without having to take an entrance examination. The Swiss Matura can be completed in German only or bilingually with English or Italian. The IB is taught in English and involves critical learning inquiries aimed at the education of the whole person. Additionally, students can sit for the German Abitur.
Students aged 12 – 19 are split between 4 boarding houses which are governed by the Heads of Houses along with the student House Captains. Mutual respect, tolerance and fairness are expected from each student. House parents and educators encourage all students to extend their intellectual and physical limits organise school competitions and sports programs

Extracurricular Activities

Due to the idyllic location of the school, there is a varied program of outdoors activities. These include river rafting, horse riding, sleigh rides and outings to the theatre and musicals. Students can also join school band, theatre groups and debating society.
