About the American School in Switzerland
TASIS welcomes each year more than 700 day and boarding students from Pre-kindergarten to Postgraduate, with Students 265 students between the ages of 12 to 19 residing on campus. More than 60 nationalities are represented and 35 languages are being spoken as mother tongue.
Location and Campus:
The Campus includes 25 buildings dating from the 17th century which reopened in 2014. The school is located in the Italian-spoken part of Switzerland.
The Academic program provides a rich and varied curriculum that encourages students to find their own voice. High school students can choose from a selection of Advanced Placement courses or pursue the International Baccalaureate Diploma, providing access to colleges and universities around the world. Accredited by the European Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
They also encourage physical activities and a healthy lifestyle. Sports teams compete in different competitions across Europe, and a wide range of other activities and recreational sports and adventures trips are offered to cater to all interests.
TASIS welcomes students beginning in grade 6. They are able to live and grow in a peaceful, safe, respectful environment. As the dormitory is the student’s home away from home, consideration for other and community are vital for the well-being of the student’s life at TASIS.
The teachers and educators provides an essential link between students and the faculty as well as working together to meet student’s needs in their daily lives.
After study hours, many different type of activities are organized for the kids such badminton, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, lacrosse, rugby, football, swimming, tennis and many more. During the winter time, activities may varies from skiing to exploring regions of Zermatt, Gsttad and Crans-Montana
